Article  They voted to keep troops in Afghanistan and Germany and to support more bombing of Yemen by Saudi Arabia.  They also voted to not contest Trump's withdrawal from the  nuclear weapons treaty (the INF).  This despite the need to deal with Covid, unemployment, racism, and climate change.

A baby barn swallow fell out of the nest onto the below bike path.  First someone put stones and branches around it so it would not be run over.  Then others moved it off the bike path and  into the safety of the grasses.  Advice   It had feathers and could move its wings.  I think it was just stunned by falling out of the nest.  It was very neat the way its wings folded and moved.  There was another swallow nearby just learning to flutter its wings and start flying.

article  Radley Balko wrote the book "Rise Of The Warrior Cop: The Militarization Of America's Police Forces." Surplus military equipment dumped onto  police depts., DHS anti-terrorism grants to buy more military hardware, no knock raids with SWAT teams used to serve drug warrants, the need for training,  illegal tear gas and  flashbang grenades  against nonviolent civilians, the warrior mindset of conquering force, drones, helicopters, .50 caliber machine guns, civil forfeiture of private property going into the police departments,.... 

Solutions: have fewer traffic stops of black and brown people, have less predatory cities that fund themselves by fines and penalties on poor people, have fewer armed police, have the police be required to live in the neighborhoods where they police and to have the racial mix of those communities,  have unarmed  mediators  and traffic cops used for many situations, forget about the the "broken window" emphasis on statistics and harassing the poor; provide jobs, scholarships, mortgages,  and loans for people of color and low income people. 

article Medical records are oriented towards billing, not to diagnosing the problems.  Financial incentives are given when more tests, shots, etc are giver.  For example, 100x more can be charged to patient if a Cat scan is prescribed.  So some hospitals and doctors may push extra procedures.  They could be for real reasons or not.
