Japan Announces Plans to Kill Whales

Japan will kill whales in its territorial waters.  It will leave the International Whaling Commission.  "Chief cabinet secretary Yoshihide Suga admitted in a statement that the government is putting its own " life and culture of using whales" ahead of conservation efforts."  From Common Dreams
