www.oriononline.org
www.oriononline.org is a great website and magazine. Their magazine last winter had an article about how a young boy and his mother in Quebec campaigned to ban the use of dangerous pesticides for cosmetic purposes on lawns. He researched what the city was spraying, went to city and town council meetings, spoke up when the mayor lied by
claiming that dangerous pesticides were not used, and he has even persuaded many towns and cities to ban cosmetic pesticide use on parks. He has even brought the issue before several provinces.
Often there are great articles aboult building community, valuing nature, stopping the war,
and stopping the destruction of nature. Bill McKibben, Terry Tempest Williams, Jane Goodall, RIck Bass, Peter Mathiessen and other luminaries write frequently for it.

Deadly Pills
www.worstpills.org details how dangerous prescription drugs kill 100,000 people per year. TheFDA is paid $150 million to approve a new drug, and many FDA officials have taken money from or been employed by drug or food cos. Except for new breakthrough drugs, you should only take older drugs, which have been in use for 7 years or more, so the side effects will have been noticed. Many people are given too much of one drug, and then a chain of other drugs to mange the side effects of the first drug. It is sometime better to to just take less of the first drug. From Democracy Now on 2-21-05.
Diesel
